Diverse onderzoeksresultaten tonen duidelijk aan dat de consumptie van fruit en groenten een gunstig effect kan hebben op cardiovasculaire aandoeningen. Wat de consumptie van 100% vruchtensap betreft, zien we volgens de beschikbare resultaten een bescheiden gunstig effect op de bloeddruk en het cholesterolgehalte, terwijl er steeds vaker een negatieve associatie wordt gesuggereerd tussen 100% vruchtensap en het risico op beroertes. Over het algemeen suggereren deze bevindingen dat 100% vruchtensap een goede keuze kan zijn om hart en lichaam gezond te houden.
